Because the area is much more remote, the Panama fishing grounds that we fish have not had the local fish population overwhelmed by masses of anglers that can easily overfish a region in no time flat. One main reason the area has not been overfished is because your Panama fishing excursion takes you to a remote location 46 miles offshore called Coiba Island where you set up house to live, fish, and explore for a solid week.

Live on Coiba Island in what was once Club Pacifico of the 1960's. These accomodations are by no means elegant nor are they five star hotels but they are small cabins of the local ranger station with air condition that will let you sleep and eat in comfort. The Captain will organize all your food and other needs per your requests for the week where the staff will cook your own food and catch to enjoy outside on the patio. For one week you will live on Coiba Island, go fishing in Panama waters teeming with exotic species, eat fresh catch, shoot the breeze on the patio while "gulping" your favorite cold beverage, and have a great time while leaving all your distractions at home, where they belong. All's it takes is to hook up with one big black marlin and you will never want to leave this place.

Coiba Island is the largest of all the Islands in Panama's ocean waters. Coiba itself, which has an area of 120,000 acres is the largest island of the American Pacific. Because Coiba is 46 miles offshore and was completely isolated it made the perfect place to keep criminals so in 1910 that is exactly what they did so they build a penal colony. And this may be news to you but the prison is still there to this day and has roughly 50 prisoners or so to keep up the land. Because of the penal colony It takes special permission to get on the island which your Captain has. That is another reason the land is virtually untouched and unspoild by humans, because of the larger penal colony years ago this was just not a place folks explored, of course unless you were a Panamanian convict. In addition to the great Panama fishing these true tales of the island's history just adds to the mysterious allure of the Island.

Day 1 of Your magical one of a kind, 2 country fishing week begins with your arrival to San Jose in Costa Rica where you will stay a relaxing night in a comfortable Costa Rican lodge with all room reservations arranged by us.
Day 2 of your fishing vacation, you will take a quick early flight to Puerto Jimenez where you will fish a full day with a top big game fishing Captain on board a 32' Boston Whaler. After a long hard day of excellent Costa Rica fishing you will stay the night in town in plush waterfront accomodations.
Day 3 Will be a duplicate of day 2 with another long hard day of Costa Rica sportfishing.
Day 4 You will transfer by boat to Golfito which is about a 25 minute boat ride. Our driver will take you to the boarder which is another 45 minute ride where he will help you clear customs. Our driver in Panama will take you to David, Panama where you will take a private plane and land on the remote Island of Coiba (1hr) there you will get on the boat and fish inshore for wahoo, snapper, dorado, amberjack, and other species. After this half day of fishing we will arrive at the rooms at 5pm where we will eat a hot fresh cooked dinner and discuss the next days hunt.
Day 5 Our first full day of Panama fishing where we will hit the Captains hotspots and fish from 6am until 5pm.
A long hard day of sportfishing in Panama.
Day 6 Our sixth day will be the same as day 5, another long hard day of Panama sport fishing around Coiba Island and Hannibal Bank which is one of Captain Mark's great fishing spots.
Day 7 You return to David, Panama where you make the trip back to Golfito. Once there you make a flight back to San Jose and stay the night.
Day 8 Fly home.
